2006 Morey Malibu Classic
Most thoroughly refined longboard design.
Classic lines, classic proportions, result of 52 years of development.

"After 1953, Malibu became my home break. I not only rode there for Goodart Surfboards, Velzy & Jacobs, Con, Dave Sweet, and Dewey Weber '53 - '64, but also during that decade borrowed any board that looked worth a try, including: Dora and Fisher's Quiggs, Phil Edwards' "Baby", Hobies, Wardies, Kivlins, home made jobs, you name it.
"Not that I'd planned at the time to build boards, but because it just felt necessary; nothing anyone in those days was building delivered the kind of performance I craved. What's a guy gonna do?
"So circa 1955 I began tweaking the boards I owned, modifying dozens of them, striving for what I really wanted in a board. But I could only finance so much this way. Consequently, in 1964 I hung my shingle out in Ventura, California and began creating my own designs from scratch... and with each iteration, coming ever more close to the ultimate Malibu Classic™ surfboard.

"Always in mind was design of the ultimate board to be ridden at Malibu on a good 4' to 8' day. And to this day, the drive is still the same, that of making a superior board that is a dream to take off on and absolutely rips great turn backs after nose riding like none other. The Malibu Classic™ is that board; 100% there for you on that special day when you pull up to be part of the perfect wave at where ever is your 'Malibu' ."
